Frequently asked questions.

What is the best countertop material?

The two most popular choices are quartz and granite — each offering unique benefits:

  • Quartz is a man-made material composed of natural quartzite and resins. It's non-porous, antimicrobial, and highly stain-resistant. Since quartz slabs are manufactured, the color and pattern are consistent — perfect for book-matched backsplashes or seamless looks.

  • Granite is a durable natural stone with a wide range of colors and patterns. No two slabs are alike, which adds a unique and organic feel to your kitchen.

  • Marble, while softer and more maintenance-heavy, is a baker’s favorite due to its naturally cool surface — great for working with dough or chocolate.

Can I use a kitchen cabinet in the bathroom?

Yes, you can — and sometimes it’s the better choice.

The key differences lie in the size:

  • Bathroom vanities are typically 21” deep and 32.5” high

  • Kitchen cabinets are 24” deep and 34.5” high

If the space allows, kitchen cabinets offer a deeper sink and a more ergonomic height, reducing back strain. For tighter or kid-friendly bathrooms, vanity cabinets are usually a better fit.

Do I need to leave my home during a kitchen renovation?

Generally, no — most clients stay home during the project.

We’ll set up a temporary kitchen station with your refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and other essentials. We also install zip walls and use dust containment practices to keep the rest of your home clean and livable.

The exception: If your project includes staining wood floors with oil-based polyurethane, we recommend leaving the home for 2–3 days due to strong fumes that can cause dizziness or nausea.

Should I use LVT or tile flooring in my kitchen?

Both are great options — your choice depends on your needs and preferences.

  • Tile offers top-tier water resistance and durability. It’s ideal for households that cook often or live in warmer climates. However, it can be cold and harder underfoot unless paired with radiant heat.

  • LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) is softer, warmer, and more forgiving on feet and joints. It also helps minimize damage if something is dropped. It’s water-resistant, but not fully waterproof like tile.

To decide, consider:

  • Has the kitchen flooded in the past?

  • Is there valuable living space beneath it?

  • Are you planning more updates on the first floor?

Do you have a showroom?

Not yet — but it’s coming soon!

We’re launching our first fully functioning showroom in 2026, where you’ll be able to test and interact with faucets, fixtures, lighting, furniture, and more.

Want early access? We’re offering complimentary private tours before the public launch. Email us to schedule yours. https://bennettinteriorconcepts.com/contact

What should I expect at our second meeting?

This meeting is all about vision and direction.

We’ll present proposed layouts — often with multiple options — along with product samples, material suggestions, and information to help you make confident choices.

You’ll also receive a detailed quote for design services and/or products. If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll sign a contract and take a deposit. If not, no worries — we part on great terms.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

  • A full gut renovation typically takes about 4 weeks

  • A direct replacement (keeping layout, replacing materials) can take as little as 2 weeks

Timelines can vary based on scope, availability of materials, and any custom features.

Do you offer financing or payment plans?

While we don’t offer direct payment plans, we’re happy to assist you with financing options through your bank. We can also provide documentation needed to help streamline the loan or credit process.

What areas do you service?

We proudly serve Westchester and Nassau County.

If you're located outside these areas, we can still work with you virtually. Simply send us photos, dimensions, and a few notes, and we’ll guide the design process remotely.

Can I purchase products without hiring you for design?

Yes! When we present a quote, you have full control — you can choose as many or as few services as you want. If you're only interested in purchasing products or cabinetry through us, that's absolutely fine.
